Publishing on Booking.com:
the photo rules you need to know

Booking.com is the most demanding platform when it comes to photos: high resolution, a minimum number of images, landscape format and prohibited content. This guide brings together its official rules and our photographer's tips for a complete, compliant property page.

What Booking.com requires

Resolution: at least 2048 × 1080 pixels, preferably 4000 × 3000 pixels.

At least 10 photos, including at least 4 per room or unit, and at least one of the bathroom and the toilet.

Landscape (horizontal) format only, taken at a height of about 0.9 to 1.5 metres.

Rejected or not recommended: watermarks, illustrations, collages, recognisable people, blurry or pixelated photos, heavy filters or excessive HDR, black and white, distorted images, ultra-wide-angle or fisheye.

Also avoid road signs and parked cars in outdoor photos.

Our photographer's tips

Going beyond the minimum required

Following the rules keeps your photos from being rejected. What makes the difference in the search results is the quality of the presentation.

01
Natural HDR

Our HDR aims for a natural result, true to what the eye sees: exactly what Booking expects, without an "over-processed" look.

02
Framing without distortion

We frame at chest height, from the corners of the rooms, with a carefully chosen focal length: no distortion, no fisheye effect.

03
Booking's preferred resolution

We deliver at more than 4000 pixels wide, so in the format Booking prefers.

04
A complete set from the shoot

Plan the complete set at the time of the shoot: 4 views per room, the bathroom and the toilet, the outdoor spaces.

02 · Title and listing

Writing and completing your Booking.com listing

The platform's rules
  • On Booking.com, much of the property page relies on the information entered in the extranet: rooms, beds, facilities, policies.
  • Each photo can be reordered and edited from the extranet; the order you choose determines what guests see first.
Our tips
  • Fill in each facility carefully: on Booking, facilities structure the property page and the search filters.
  • Check that the photos, facilities and practical information match those of your other listings.
  • Put the photo that sums up the stay first, then follow the order of a viewing.
03 · Common mistakes

What holds a listing back on Booking.com

Portrait photos

Booking asks for landscape format only: photos taken in portrait on a phone cause problems.

Too few images

Fewer than 10 photos, or fewer than 4 per room: the page looks incomplete next to neighbouring listings.

Overdone HDR

Oversaturated colours, halos, an unreal look: Booking advises against over-processing. Good HDR goes unnoticed.

People or cars

Recognisable people, parked cars, signs: avoid them in all photos.

What Prestaprod does for you. We audit your Booking.com listing, take photos that meet the platform's requirements, give you the recommended photo order and write the title and description. The listing stays on your account. Photos are not everything: price, season, location and reviews matter too, but a polished presentation keeps your listing from putting guests off.
